Cheshire Close Up Magician at Portal Gold

The Portal Golf Club invited me to perform, as a Cheshire Close Up Magician, for the second year on the run. A luxurious Country club just outside Tarporley. This came about while working for a local company named Salt Union Limited.

A magnificent Tudor-styled hotel. Primarily known for golfing as it has three courses to choose from. Lessons and coaching are provided by professionals. Donald Steel who has created many great golf courses, was the creator. It opened for play in 1990.

A battlefield, many years ago, resulted in holes being named accordingly. Agincourt and Waterloo for example. The course is long. Although it can be walked, buggies are available.

The facility also has conferencing, spa and or course banqueting facilities.

Cheshire Close Up Magician appears for Second Time

On both occasions guests and staff were wonderful. Christmas events can be lively. This is no surprise. Spirits are always high during the festive period. Close up magic always works well around this time of year and I was very excited to return for a second year.

When one performs close up magic for the second year running it is a different experience. First of all, many guests know you which makes it easier to get people involved. They also remember the magic you did last year so you do have to introduce new things.

It is also true that guests often want to see tricks they saw the year before. Perhaps, in an attempt to solve the mystery. Or perhaps, just to relive last year’s experience. Either way, it makes returning so enjoyable.
