Network Magician at Lloyds of London

Last Tuesday, I was performing as a Network magician at Lloyds of London in Lime Street for PayPal’s 10th-anniversary celebration. Yes, PayPal has been going for a decade. The Lloyds building is magnificent, with high security and impressive facilities.
Lloyd’s of London is an iconic insurance market established in 1686. Renowned for underwriting complex and unique risks, it operates as a society of members, known as “Names,” who provide capital to back insurance policies. With a global reach, Lloyd’s remains a symbol of financial stability and innovation in the insurance industry.
I was performing corporate magic in The Old Library, a basement facility that looks slightly out of context, with walls of dark wood in this otherwise steel construction. This gave the feeling that the massive modern framework had been built around this single old room.
The picture above shows the splendour of the Old Library with its wooden panelling and old paintings.
The second picture shows the steel construction which holds up the building. The contrast is quite startling.

Many companies were present, for example, Fujitsu, as you can see from the photograph. It can be challenging work when a network magician entertains during an event. There are occasions when I have turned an offer down for this reason. However, I found guests to be very responsive to close up magic and the caricaturist and I had a great time.
I spend a lot of my time working as a London Magician. Indeed this is the second time I have worked at this beautiful venue in the heart of the capital. Last year I was employed by the same events company to perform at their Christmas party in the same room.
