Newcastle Stage Magician on tour with Devious Minds
Before I became a Newcastle Stage Magician, I spent three years in and around the city while doing my degree at Sunderland University. So it was with great pleasure that I returned to perform as a Newcastle stage Magician again. It has been a while since I have worked in the area. Last time I was here I was lecturing for the local Magic Club.
The Venue
We had another two nights in Tyne and Wear, formally Northumberland. Tonight we are in New Hartley, which is a small village in Northumberland, England, known for its mining heritage. The village suffered a tragic disaster in 1862 when an explosion in the Hartley Pit mine claimed 204 lives. Today, it is a quiet and close-knit community, with a memorial commemorating the mining disaster’s victims.
The New Hartley Memorial Hall was built as a lasting tribute to the 1862 mining disaster victims, it serves as a hub for local events, gatherings, and activities, fostering community spirit and honouring the area’s historical legacy. We were fortunate to have been booked into this wonderful venue.
Several friends turned up to watch, which made it a very relaxed night. There were also a number of families which is always fun. The younger members were very enthusiastic.
As their was a small audience it gave me an opportunity to perform some close up magic as well as some of the cabaret magic which is normally in the set.
The Tour
We have been working on a new addition to the show which we may preview tomorrow night which will be the last Devious Minds date this year. In the few days we have spent in the county we have also visited Amble and Bardon Mill.
