Lincoln Close up Magician at the University

So I was back as a Lincoln close up magician at the University on Monday Night. My last visit was about a year ago when I did the middle in there regular weekly comedy event.
This time I returned as MC, with three relatively new comedians and a headliner.
The three supporting comedians were all very good, showing lots of potential, and I look forward to watching them over the coming years.
One pointed out to the audience that I only had 12 followers on Twitter. This is actually not true, he was looking at the wrong account. I have over 160. I pointed this out to the audience and then realised that I hadn’t tweeted since May.
My last tweet had nothing to do with magic. I complained that I had been kept waiting in Bella Pasta and had moved to Starbucks. I guess you can’t get much more middle-aged than that. Perhaps I should create a few more tweets on conjuring from a Lincoln close up magician.
Stand up Comedy Roots
Stephen Allen was headlining, a comedian I met ten years ago in the days of the Amused Moose. When I first started out performing stage magic I did a stand-up comedy course The Moose ran the courses. I met many established comedians while doing open spots and charity nights. Stephen was amongst them and I remembered his performances vividly.
Stand-up comedy is probably the ultimate work out for any performer. The discipline has put me in good stead for those rowdy nights in echoing rooms.
The student audience was very friendly and kind. They were also very attentive given that this is a free night for them.
