Thames Magician at the London Rowing Club
Last week I was performing as a Putney Magician at a corporate event for PCR, a London-based company. The company deals with company rescue, and consequently, there were many different professions within the group. There were members of the legal profession as well as administration and management.
It was being held during the day; most often, these events were in the evening. This was also somewhat unusual as it was held at a Rowing club on the Thames. I must admit that this was a first for me. I grew up in Cambridge, where there were many clubs of this nature due to the University.
The London Rowing Club has a function room with a nice long balcony which overlooks the water. Given that the weather was kind it was an ideal venue for such an event.
There was also one keen amateur magician. This is not unusual. When performing I often meet those who have dabbled in the art. It was interesting to talk to him and find out what he had studied and the tricks he had learned.
“Thank you so much for attending our Event last Thursday and entertaining our guests – you truly were magic. We were so lucky with the weather and everyone had such a lovely day.”
Event Organiser
Before I started we were treated to thirty minutes of the singing waiters. This is a rather novel act, where the performers start off serving guests only to burst into song on cue. They performed a number of well-known songs finishing with the likes of Nessun Dorma.
Close up magic followed this well, and everyone was very enthusiastic. Often daytime events are a little more low-key than evening ones. However, on this occasion, it was a great deal of fun. I was happy to receive this email from the organiser a few days after the event.
I am a London and Putney Magician available for hire in and around London. I offer many different packages, so please call or email if you have any questions. Here is the booking page.
