Conference Magician Tj Shoesmith at Artillery Gardens
A few weeks ago, I was asked to perform as a Conference Magician at The Conference Awards hosted by Ruby Wax.
What are the conference Awards? Well, their website describes the awards as an event, “Designed to recognise and champion excellence, they are a true celebration of success and innovation in the conference industry.”
It is a prestigious award ceremony covering all aspects of event organisation held at the Artillery Gardens at the HAC in London. It was a vibrant afternoon with 120 entries for 14 awards and over 400 people attending.
Ruby was perfect and there was some great entertainment including the magicians of course. I performed close-up magic during the reception and after the ceremony itself.
We had front row seats during the event as you can see from this picture which shows Ruby Wax speaking at the end of the event.
No doubt event organisation has been hit by the recession but on this particular afternoon, it was hard to believe. The HAC was an excellent venue and the summer weather was perfect for the occasion.
Close up magic in this corporate environment is wonderful and the London venue was ideal.
This event took place in 2010 and has been moved from the blog to this website.
Tj Shoesmith is an experienced magician, and has performed throughout London. With appearances at Merchant Taylor Hall, Headstone Manor, Social City and 58VE. He is well known in corporate hospitality with London performances at Spurs, Charlton Athletic and Chelsea.
Hotels include the Raddison Heathrow, The Marylebone Hotel and Savoy to name a few. He has also appeared a number of times on ships travelling the Thames including the Belfast and M V Edwardian.
